Prevalece el Yoga is what it sounds like: the conviction that, whatever else is going on, the practice prevails. It is the project of Ainara Goñi and Federica Gonsalvi: in-person classes in Madrid, and, in the most portable format in this guide's family, live online classes that fit wherever your living room happens to be.

Who is behind it

Ainara told her story in our interview with Ainara Goñi: the move from Venezuela to Spain, the doors yoga opened, and a relationship with practice built on self-acceptance rather than performance.

When I started, I never imagined that I would dedicate myself professionally to yoga.

What is practised there

In-person classes in Madrid and live classes online in real time, and the live part is the detail that matters: a scheduled hour with a real teacher watching is a different discipline from a video you can pause. The whole project keeps to that human scale, all the way down to its website, which is little more than a phone number, an email and an Instagram account: everything that matters happens inside the class. You write, a teacher answers, you practise.

Why it is a special stop

Because it solves the two moments a travel guide cannot: before you arrive and after you leave. And because of how it feels from inside: classes at a scale where the teacher sees you, corrects you in real time and follows your progress from week to week, which is community in its most portable form. Ainara and Federica understand yoga as something you keep, not something you consume; the name of the project is literally that promise. Prevalece is, among the studios in our yogi's travel guide to Madrid, the entry you can take home with you, and pairs naturally with the habit we defend most: a fixed spot at home where the mat is always ready.
